Our Mission and Purpose
 

The Friends of the Fox is a not-for-profit advocacy group established to preserve and develop the environmental, cultural, historical, economic and quality-of-life assets offered by the Fox River. 

 

We are committed to offering a formal, professional structure which may be used by the citizens of northeast Wisconsin to promote discussion of the issues and actions that affect the waterway.

 

Friends of the Fox is an advocacy group representing you.  We're your voice in determining the future of the entire Fox River System.

We're concerned with:

• Wisconsin Heritage Parkway to include the 17-lock navigation system, historic and cultural heritage, and enhanced river access
• Recreational opportunities and tourism
• Protection of overall Fox River System to include water quality as well as wildlife ecology and habitat maintenance

Management of Friends of the Fox
 

Friends of the Fox is a not-for-profit corporation managed by an elected board of directors.  Funding comes exclusively from contributions of private citizens and corporations.

Friends of the Fox also benefits from the Fox River Fund, which is managed by the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region Inc.  Endowments and donations to this fund are invested, and the interest is then used for the improvement of the Fox River System.

Friends of the Fox is comprised of people like you.  People who care about the most valuable natural resource in Northeastern Wisconsin…the Fox River System.

Help fight to improve this vital resource.  Become an active member-attend meetings on the topics which affect our Fox River System, and let people know that you are concerned about this waterway.
